White Porcelain Pollo Vase - Wirkkala for Rosenthal

This is probably the best known porcelain design by Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala (for German porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal, 70s). The vase clearly resembles a bird, hence the title "Pollo". This sculptural vase is truly an iconic piece of Finnish design. The clean lines and soft shape are not just beautiful to look at, but holding the vase is an experience in itself! :) the surface is powdery matt and smooth, the relief around the neck of the bird begs to be touched.
