Built in 1898 and closed forever in 2002, even the building is no more. This is all that remains of the whisky named after ‘the secret well’, the source of its crisp, clear water from the Rotheshills. Even in its heyday, Caperdonich was a little distiller y, making whisky in small batches. Other distilleries grew and grew, but Caperdonich stood firm and true. While the building may be gone, the distiller’s craft lives on.
