Sashiko - Visible mending Workshop Repairing instead of throwing away Sashiko is a traditional Japanese technique for repairing and decorating textiles. Using a simple running stitch, we hand-sew patterns that give fabric a new value, personal expression, and second life - no prior experience required. Through the workshop, you will learn about the history, principles, and patterns of this centuries-old craft, and how to apply them to your own pieces. It is also a deeply calming and joyful activity to share with others. The workshop will be led by Madeleine, a handcraft teacher who studied Sashiko under a Japanese textile artist and regularly teaches in France and Switzerland. ・・・・・ Date: Thu.
