Cover and binding edges show faint wear, but otherwise no visible damages. 内容 __________________________________ 本書は、2018年6月9日から7月8日までMEMで開催された展覧会『高く、赤い、中心の、行為」』を記念して発行された図録。本展では、初期の「星男」含め過去の作品から新作まで、パフォーマンスを含め身体の行為を基礎にした森村作品の側面を考察した。展覧会タイトルと同名の新作は、高松次郎、赤瀬川原平、中西夏之により結成されたハイレッド・センターによって、1964年に東京の路上で行われた「第6次ミキサー計画」での、各作家による「行為」を参照しながら、作家の地元大阪の鶴橋で森村自身によって行われたパフォーマンスを基に写真とビデオ作品を制作したものである。加えて、同様にパフォーマンスのビデオと写真作品で構成される60年代暗黒舞踏の運動を率いた大野一雄の「ラ・アルヘンチーナ頌再考」(2010-2018)も展示された。 Catalog published to mark the exhibition High, Red, Central Action at MEM on Jun 9-Jul 8 2018. The exhibition featured old and new works by Morimura with an aspect of physical action at their heart such as in his performances. Morimura’s newest work, which lent its title to the exhibition, was modeled on “Sixth Mixer Plan”, a happening staged in the streets of Tokyo in 1964 by Hi-Red Center, an art group formed by Jiro Takamatsu, Genpei Akasegawa and Natsuyuki Nakanishi. Referring closely to the three artists’ respective “actions” at the happening, Morimura put on his own performance in Osaka’s Tsuruhashi district, out of which the photographic and video pieces presented here were produced. Also exhibited were “Cometman” (1990) and “Readmiring La Argentina” (2010–2018). “Cometman,” Morimura’s first video work, is based on the famous portrait of Duchamp with his head shaved in the shape of a star. The series consists of stills and a video of Morimura’s performances in which he walked around Kyoto with a star shaved into the back of his head, or lay spread-eagled in the street, forming a star shape with his body. Morimura has since continued to put on occasional performances both in public and otherwise, some of which have been compiled and exhibited as photographic or video works. ____________________________________ ISBN 978-4-909598-00-4
