Brass Magnifier

A fine lacquered brass 'bull's-eye' adjustable condenser lens on stand, that can be used to magnify for close work, e.g. tying fishing flies, philately or for entomology when it can be used for quick identification before microscopic examination. With adjustment for height, rotation and tilt angle of the lens. Circa 1900. Dimensions: 3.75 cm/1½ inches (lens diameter) x 23.5 cm/9¼ inches (max. height from bottom of base to top of ball stand).
