Agate (Turritella) Polished Egg (Wyoming)
This little egg is made of fossiliferous turritella agate from Wyoming. Turritella agate is a popular 50-million-year-old, brownish-translucent, fossiliferous agate from Wyoming's Green River Formation, featuring distinctive white-to-tan spiraled fossils. Although historically named after marine Turritella snails, the fossils are actually freshwater Elimia tenera snails. About 1.2" diameter (30mm) x 1.6" high (40mm)
