The BettaPod is a floating betta hide and hammock for betta fish, shrimp and nano-tank species. It lets your betta rest and breathe at the water surface — where labyrinth fish naturally take air — and doubles as a feeding ring. UK 3D-printed in our Yorkshire workshop from aquarium-safe PETG. No glue, no paint, no sharp edges. Why bettas need a floating hide Bettas are labyrinth fish — they breathe oxygen directly from the water surface. A floating hide gives them a stress-free resting spot at the top of the tank, mimicking the lily-pad cover they use in the wild. Without one, bettas often rest awkwardly on heaters, filter intakes or substrate, which is a stress indicator. Features Floats at the surface — bettas can rest while breathing Doubles as a feeding ring — keeps food in one spot Open form suits shrimp, corydoras and rasboras for shelter and foraging 3D-printed in the UK from aquarium-safe PETG plastic No glue, no paint, no sharp edges — safe with delicate betta fins Long-lasting — won't break down or leach in freshwater Specifications Material: Aquarium-safe PETG plastic Width: 80 mm Depth: 80 mm Height: 95 mm Opening: 35 mm × 35 mm Weight: Floats (anchor with suction cup if you prefer it submerged) Made in: United Kingdom Brand: Blubber Cove Fits these tanks Designed for nano and small freshwater aquariums from 5 litres upwards. Yes. It's 3D-printed from aquarium-safe PETG with no glue, paint or sharp edges. PETG is the same plastic used in food-grade containers and is inert in freshwater. Does it float or sink? It floats by default. Most betta-keepers want it floating at the surface. If you prefer it anchored lower, fit any standard suction cup (not supplied) to one of the side recesses. Can I use it as a feeding ring? Yes. The open top holds floating pellets in place so your betta eats from one spot, which reduces waste and keeps the tank cleaner. Will it fit my Fluval Spec or Flex? Yes — the BettaPod is 80 × 80 × 95 mm and fits comfortably in Fluval Spec 5/15/19, Fluval Flex 9/15, and most nano tanks 5 litres and up. How do I clean it? Rinse in tank water during your weekly water change. Do not use soap or detergent. For deeper cleans, use an aquarium-safe brush and warm water only. Is it suitable for shrimp tanks? Yes. The open form and ridged surface give shrimp ample foraging and shelter. PETG is shrimp-safe and won't leach copper or other harmful metals.
