This Opalescent Placenticeras intercalare is one of the rarest types of Ammonites. The Ammonite is wrapped in a double row of distinct horns along the spiral. Excavated by hand from the side of a cliff in the remote badlands of Alberta, Canada. This beautiful 70 million year old Ammonite displays fiery reds, pinks, oranges and pastel purples. This fossil has two openings on the one side where you can see the crystallized hollow internal structure of the ammonite. It also comes with a heavily crystallized natural base. The Ammonite fossil measures 11cm (4 inches) by 8cm (3.25 inches) The Base measures 16x13x8cm (6x5x3 inches)
