Hanagumo | Matcha Bowl
Hand-thrown by artist Taro Kojima at Nunobiki Kiln in Shiga, Japan, the Hanagumo matcha bowl measures 4.7" wide and 3.0" tall (120 × 77 mm). The exterior is finished in Nanasai Tenmoku, a glaze painting technique developed by Kojima-san himself: kiln-transformed glazes of deep transparency and varied color, rendering a sakura tree directly onto the clay. Slight variations at the rim and foot are the marks of a hand, not a mold. A singular object, shaped once and unrepeatable. The wide opening gives the chasen room to move. Intended for whisked matcha at home. Hand wash only.
