Details: - A relaxed board shirt crafted from rayon-cotton back satin gabardine, drawing inspiration from 1940s–50s board shirts while updated with a roomier silhouette through the shoulders and body. The fabric is woven in Hokuriku from a refined gabardine, then processed in Kyoto using discharge dyeing and hand-screen color discharge techniques for exceptional depth and detail. The print takes cues from scenes of historic port towns, inspired by the Tōkaidō Gojūsan-tsugi, and features delicately rendered motifs such as sailing ships, Mount Fuji, cherry blossoms, and pine trees. While distinctly Japanese in imagery, the composition carries an understated foreign mood, creating a unique sense of cultural contrast. A faded finish gives the piece the softly worn character of a garment shaped by time, blending East and West, past and present into a singular expression.
