From there it grew into a widely exported mid-century Swiss marque, building a strong following in overseas markets. Like many Swiss brands it was hit hard by the 1970s quartz crisis, and the company’s rights to the Technos trademark were ultimately sold to its long-time Japanese importer Heiwado in 1982; over time the brand’s centre of gravity shifted toward South America, with rights later transferring to Technos Relógios S.A.
