The Wheels of Fortune

Charlotte Beaudry’s paintings often depict objects borrowed from popular culture, the everyday and the world of celebrities. Characteristic of her practice is the way she isolates her subjects and portrays them frontally, as to avoid situating them within any specific context. This work depicts medallions of the twelve astrological signs, which the artist has translated into small portraits in their on right, personal and universal at the same time.
