2023 Karim Vionnet 'Du Beur dans les Pinards' Beaujolais Villages

Place: Beaujolais, France Variety: Gamay Farming: Organic Born to Algerian parents, Karim was adopted as a child by the Vionnets in Morgon. He has worked with the region’s greats—Lapierre, Breton, Foillard—as a vineyard- and cellar-hand, as well as assistant winemaker. He alongside his daughter Noemie now farm 5ha across Beaujolais-Villages, Chiroubles, Chenas and Fleurie. ‘Du Beur dans les Pinards’ is his most playful, emblematic cuvée. Bursting with crunchy red cherry, raspberry and a pop of violet, it leans into pure, juicy Gamay fruit with a soft, savoury undertone.
