They enjoy lots of sun but can also tolerate a bit of shade. Begin planting in the fall (Sept-Dec), before the ground freezes, for a bloom of bright fragrant bubbles in late spring (May - June). Plant bulbs in well-draining soil at a depth of 4" while spacing bulbs 4" apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Note that alliums are poisonous if eaten by most pets.
