Naranjo-Garcia, Sharon – 8″ Tall Wedding Vase with Carved Avanyu
Sharon Naranjo Garcia (b. 1951) is a granddaughter of Christina Naranjo. She learned to make pottery from her grandmother and is known for her traditional style of pottery. This wedding vase has a round body and elongated spouts. There is a water serpent carved around the body of the piece. The entire surface is fully stone polished. The designs are carved using the surrounding negative space. It is fired a deep black. The bowl is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Sharon Naranjo Garcia”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
