Simple Installation Workflow 1. STARTING BOARD Secure the first deck board along the wall/edge using the provided Torx screws. Pre-drill with a 3/16" bit and space screws every 16–24 inches. Counter-sink the screws 3/8" deep and seal the holes with the included hardwood plugs. (For composite boards, do not pre-drill; run the screw 1/8" below the surface and hammer the fibers over it). 2. CLIPPING & DRIFTING Insert The Deck Clip directly into the side groove or biscuit slot above the joist. Insert the screw and drive it down until it just touches the top of the clip—do not over-tighten at this stage, keeping the clip level so the next board can easily slide on. 3. LOCKING & SPACING Slide the next deck board halfway onto the exposed clips. Tighten the screws until the aluminum clip slightly bows downward (approx. 2/3 clutch capacity on most drills) to lock it rigid. Use a mallet and a 3/8" temporary spacer to tap the board into perfect alignment. Repeat until the final board, which is face-screwed and plugged just like the first.
