"The Hustle" is the next piece in my Angry Birds series — two puffy little birds with brown heads, poofy white bodies, and bright orange beaks, perched together on a branch. I painted this one impressionistically, building up the shading layer by layer until the whole thing started to hum with motion. The background is a patchwork of color — rusty orange, warm yellows, and soft greens stacked in loose blocks — and the goal was always to capture movement, that restless, busy energy of two little guys mid-hustle. There's something so alive about them; they feel like they're about to take off.
