Château Talbot is a well-regarded wine estate in the Saint Julien appellation of the Haut-Médoc wine region, just north of the city of Bordeaux. The estate was ranked a fourth growth in the 1855 classification. A good effort from Talbot in this vintage, which is sometimes referred to as "the miracle vintage.. Rich and concentrated. Typical Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. 75cl Bottle. Abv% Not Stated. Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level in neck Tasting Note 14/12/2025 - 90pts Pungent, unpleasant “old wine character” (doesn’t seem like reduction) blows off after a quick decant, revealing inky/ smoky notes with a slightly tart, blackcurrant acid (not as much as the 76’) with dusty but quite seamless tannins. Not much fruit left but there’s still plenty of bacon oil, meaty savouriness to last it for a few more years.
