EVENT: Portuguese Wine Tasting: From Minho to the Douro, Saturday 20th June 2026 6pm

Portugal is one of the most exciting wine countries in Europe, but it is still far too often reduced to Port and the odd bottle of Vinho Verde. This tasting is a chance to go a little deeper. Join us at Flynn’s for a relaxed guided evening exploring Portuguese wine, from the famous Douro Valley to the fresh Atlantic-influenced regions that make the country so varied and interesting. We’ll taste a selection of wines that show off Portugal’s range: bright whites, characterful reds, native grape varieties, brilliant value and proper food-friendly bottles. Across the evening, we’ll talk through the regions, grapes and styles that make Portuguese wine so distinctive, without making it feel like a lecture. Expect useful tasting notes, a bit of history, plenty of food pairing ideas, and the sort of wines you will want to come back to again. As always, there will be plenty of deli accompaniments from the shelves to enjoy alongside the wines.
