Siesta Chair by Ingmar Relling for Westnofa, leather on bent beech wood, 1960s
An exceptionally comfortable leather armchair made in Norway. Designed by Ingmar Relling, it is now regarded as one of the most important Scandinavian lounge classics of its era, impressing with its striking, relaxed silhouette and offering exceptional seating comfort thanks to its flexible construction. The black leather lends the armchair an elegant, timeless presence, making it the perfect statement piece for modern, minimalist or mid-century interiors. The frame is made from layered, black-lacquered bent beech wood. A canvas covering is attached to the frame using cords, serving as a support surface for the leather upholstery. In good vintage condition with a lovely age-related patina. The leather shows slight signs of wear with natural creasing; it has been cleaned and treated with leather balm. The frame is sturdy and well-maintained. Overall, a very beautiful original piece with authentic character. The seat height is approx. 42 cm.
