Polemonium boreale 'Heavenly Habit' 'Heavenly Habit', also known as Northern Jacob’s Ladder, is a compact perennial that is covered with large clusters of delicate flowers violet-blue flowers and fuzzy foliage. 'Heavenly Habit' blooms early-to-late summer with yellow halos and white eyes. These hardy plants will add a delicate beauty to a sunny or part-shade garden. Polemonium is a terrific choice for edging, rock gardens, containers, or woodland settings. Clip back by half in midsummer to rejuvenate, if necessary. Clumps may be easily divided in early fall or spring. Prefers evenly moist soil and partial shade, particularly in warm summer regions. The bell-shaped flowers attract pollinators while repelling deer and rabbits. Creates wonderful texture in the garden especially when combined with Hosta, Alchemilla mollis, Aquilegia columbine, and Papaver orientale.
