January 2026 – Orders of up to 6 eggs are now available. Hens are laying regularly and fertility has been verified. Ermine Ameraucana The Ermine Ameraucana is a striking and uncommon color variety characterized by a white base with distinct black patches distributed across the body. This high-contrast pattern gives each bird a unique appearance while maintaining the balanced proportions typical of the Ameraucana breed. Birds exhibit standard Ameraucana type: a moderately sized, well-balanced body with a full tail, pea comb, and the breed’s characteristic muffs and beard. Correct Ameraucana type includes slate-colored legs, regardless of color variety. Ameraucanas are valued not only for their unique coloration but also for their hardy, calm, and personable temperament. Hens are dependable layers of medium-sized blue eggs and adapt well to a wide range of climates. As a non-recognized color variety, this breeding focuses on correct Ameraucana type, strong beard and muff development, and overall pattern quality rather than strict exhibition standards. Ermine coloring is produced through white-patterning genetics similar to those seen in Paint varieties. Results vary depending on the specific pairing: Ermine × Ermine: approximately 50% ermine-patterned, 25% solid black, and 25% solid white (dominant white) Ermine × Black: approximately 50% ermine-patterned and 50% solid black Ermine × White (dominant white): approximately 50% solid white (dominant white) and 50% ermine-patterned or black-based birds, depending on expression Because this flock consists of an ermine rooster paired with ermine, black, and white hens, chicks from this breeding may hatch as ermine-patterned, solid black, or solid white due to dominant white expression. Pattern placement and final coloration are variable and cannot be predicted on an individual basis. If you are unfamiliar with Ermine genetics you can find more information here. https://akersfarm.com/pages/paint-ermine-genetics You are purchasing hatching eggs. We do not currently offer live chicks or adult birds; we only offer hatching eggs. Please understand that we collect our eggs freshly. Our farm will take up to 5–6 total orders for a breed at any given time. We are an NPIP & AI certified farm located in North Florida. We test fertility monthly and generally keep one rooster per ten hens to ensure fertility. We ship eggs regularly to ensure they move quickly and arrive as fresh as possible. We package eggs with extreme care. Each egg is individually bubble wrapped, placed into a carton, the carton is bubble wrapped again, then packed into a smaller inner box buffered with shredded paper. That inner box is placed inside a larger outer box with additional packing material. This double-boxed system gives your eggs the best possible chance of arriving safely. Important Hatching Egg Disclaimer: We do not guarantee a hatch rate. This is standard in the hatching egg community due to the many variables outside our control, including postal handling, incubation methods, and temperature fluctuations. However, your eggs will leave our farm fresh, fertile, and packaged with extreme care. Please make sure to be prepared prior to incubating your eggs using good hatching practices. You can find our hatching guide here. https://akersfarm.com/pages/hatching-guide I cannot replace eggs due to a bad hatch. Once they have left my hands, it is impossible for me to control all variables. If you need assistance with your hatch, please feel free to contact me. No refunds. No exceptions. By purchasing, you acknowledge and accept the risks associated with shipped hatching eggs. On FB, IG & TikTok @AkersFamilyFarm @TheSoapScientistPage
