Maroon Ganga Jamuna Kanchipuram silk saree

A deep maroon body is drawn all over in fine silk checks — green and gold threads crossing the red like a lattice — with small round buttas resting within the squares. This is a zero-zari Kanjivaram: no gold at all, only silk on silk, where colour and weave alone carry the whole design. It is framed by a ganga-jamuna border, parrot green on one edge and mustard on the other — the old weaver's way of letting a single saree carry two moods at once. The seer pallu opens in warm mustard, its broad silk bands laid one after another and finished in soft tassels. Light to wear, easy to drape, and beautifully suited to everyday occasions. A matching blouse completes the set.
