Vintage Tile & Metal Single Bookend with Equestrian Horse Design - Hunnisett & Edmonds, Toronto
Sturdy with a decent weight, this bookend has a ceramic tile affixed to a metal holder. The bottom is lined with cork. According to my research, Hunnisett & Edmonds was a gift and novelty shop in Toronto which was in business for over 40 years, before closing in 1989. I'm not sure if this is an item that would have been for sale in their shop or if it was in their shop office as the writing on it almost looks like the type of writing you'd do when you're labelling property. It may actually be something from their backroom office. There is a tiny chip on the upper left corner of the tile but it is very small. See photo gallery. Written on the back: Hunnisett & Edmonds, Toronto 6" by 6.26" and 4.25" deep, but you would put books over the bottom part of the bookend so it wouldn't actually take up that much space.
