Overview The IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XX, reference IW328204, is the first Mark-series pilot’s watch built on an IWC in-house manufacture movement. Every Mark before it, including the Mark XVIII it replaced in 2022, ran a modified third-party base calibre; the Mark XX breaks that pattern, and the jump in power reserve that follows is a direct consequence of that change rather than an incremental update. The case is 40mm stainless steel, 10.8mm thick, with a 49mm lug-to-lug, 2mm shorter than the Mark XVIII it replaced. The sunray blue dial carries white numerals and indices with rhodium-plated hands, a triangular index at 12 o’clock, and a date display at 3 o’clock. The crystal is convex sapphire, rated to withstand sudden drops in cabin air pressure, and the crown is screw-down. Water resistance is 10 bar, 100 metres. The movement is IWC’s Calibre 32111, an in-house automatic with 163 components and 21 jewels, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Power reserve is 120 hours, close to five days, against the Mark XVIII’s 42-hour reserve on its Sellita-based movement, the clearest practical marker of the in-house switch. The bracelet is integrated stainless steel, fitted with IWC’s EasX-CHANGE system, which allows the wearer to swap to a compatible leather or rubber strap without tools. We’d point buyers toward the bracelet configuration specifically for that reason: the premium over the strap-only version is small, and adding a strap later is cheap, while going the other way, buying on strap and later wanting a bracelet, means paying full price for a standalone bracelet, which runs considerably higher.
