Blue Cohosh. Caulophyllum thalictroides. Zones 3-8, currently rhizome. Also called squaw root or papoose root, Blue Cohosh grows 1-3' tall on strong, upright stems. It has lacy blue-green foliage and upright clusters of blue, fruit-like seeds. Native to the eastern US. Grow in shade to partial sun. Herbaceous perennial.
