Drain the final drive gear oil, unbolt the perimeter casing screws, and carefully tap off the old gearbox cover. Clean the crankcase mating surface thoroughly, install a fresh paper gasket or sealant film, slide the new gearbox cover with its pre-installed bearing squarely over the gear shafts, torque all mounting bolts evenly to factory specifications, and refill the gearbox with fresh SAE 85W-90 gear oil.
