Gunnar Hall is a photographer based in Los Angeles, drawn to the strange theater unfolding in everyday life. Interested in moments when the ordinary slips slightly out of place - when a gesture, expression, costume, or chance encounter makes the familiar feel briefly unreal. Through photography, he gathers fragments from the city and uses them to build a small world of his own. In that world, separate lives, places, and moments begin to echo one another. Humour can sit beside loneliness, beauty beside absurdity, and reality can blur with imagination. The photographs are rooted in what he finds, but the world they create belongs somewhere between memory, intuition, and discovery.
