SurgiWorld – 45° Peet Post and Point Removal Forceps
Clinical UseThe 45 degree Peet Post and Point Removal Forceps are used by endodontists for complex retrieval tasks. They are used to remove silver points, gutta-percha carriers and fractured posts from deep in the canal.Design and HandlingThe Peet design is similar to the Steiglitz, but the tip profile is more delicate and the jaw has a specialized curve. That makes it useful where the object is deep in the canal and a bulkier tip would not reach it.The 45 degree offset angle keeps a good line of sight while you take hold of the object.Retrieval TechniqueRetrieving a silver point, post or separated file is done under magnification with good light. Create access to the exposed end, take hold of it with the beaks, and apply gentle, steady pressure along the line of the canal. A twisting or rocking movement will often loosen a point that a straight pull does not.Take your time. Forcing the retrieval can fracture the root or push the object deeper. Rinse and clean the beaks after each case so debris is not left between the serrations.Retrieval forceps are fine instruments, so avoid using them to pry, and check that the beaks still meet cleanly before each case.Material and SterilizationMade from medical grade stainless steel. Autoclavable for repeated sterilization cycles. Clean and dry the instrument after each use, and check the working ends for wear or damage before it goes into the pouch.Product Features 45 degree offset angle for visibility and access Peet pattern with a delicate tip profile For silver points, gutta-percha carriers and fractured posts Specialized jaw curvature Useful for deep canal retrieval Medical grade stainless steel, autoclavable
