Echo de Lynch Bages, Paulliac 2022

I’ve been lucky enough to visit the Lynch-Bages estate: although some years ago, I was super impressed and even more so now. What they’ve managed to produce here is a great result, despite a challenging vintage for them and so many others. Cabernet Sauvignon led (64%), assisted by Merlot (31%) and Cabernet Franc (5%) Intense garnet in colour and inviting cassis notes with a touch of spice from the 14 months spent in oak barrels, French obvs. and a combination of new (less) and old more. Tannins softening nicely. This is the Chateau’s second wine but still shows real pedigree. 13.5% vol.
