DR. SMOOD WYNWOOD / MURAL INSTALLATION / MIAMI / 2015 Artist Jose Mertz / Tigers N Torches was commissioned to create a large-scale exterior mural for Dr. Smood’s Wynwood location in Miami. The mural transformed the building facade with an oversized surreal portrait built from fluid anatomical forms, layered color, and graphic linework. Designed to work both at street level and from a distance, the composition wrapped the architecture with a bold visual identity that became part of the surrounding Wynwood streetscape. Painted directly on the exterior wall, the project translated Mertz’s illustration language into a monumental public-facing format while maintaining the detail and movement of the original drawing style. The finished mural covered approximately 1,800 square feet and became one of the location’s defining visual features.
