The Eastman AR880CE, developed in collaboration with legendary jazz guitarist John Pisano, represents one of the finest handbuilt archtops available at this price point. Built in Eastman's Beijing workshop by luthiers trained in traditional European archtop construction, the AR880CE brings old-world carving and craftsmanship to a genuinely playable, gigging jazz instrument. This 2007 example, finished in Natural Blonde, carries serial number 121128274 and shows the hand-carved solid spruce top and flamed maple back and sides that define the model. The ebony fingerboard and tailpiece, gold hardware, and Eastman's signature frog inlay on the tailpiece round out a genuinely elegant, understated instrument built for tone rather than flash. A single floating black pickup sits neatly beneath the strings, keeping the fully hollow, chambered construction intact for a warm, resonant acoustic voice with clean amplified output when needed. In very good to excellent condition, showing only minor cosmetic marks consistent with light handling, with no structural issues. A genuinely special jazz box that plays as good as it looks.
