2020 Les Prairies Chateau de Pitray

This classic right bank Bordeaux is from Castillion - an appellation right next to Saint Emillion. From one of the oldest Chateau in the region - with a history dating back to the 15th century, this wine, with six years of age, is really entering its drinking window. From a hot vintage these is loads of blackberry and plum on the nose. The palate has more of the blackberry, some spice and a hint of orange peel. the tannins are present - with a good structure and are becoming nicely integrated. This is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Excellent drinking now and for many years to come.
