Rear Trailing Arm Spring Perch Reinforcement Plates – E30

The factory rear spring perches on the E30 trailing arms were designed around relatively soft OEM springs. When running higher-rate aftermarket springs, the increased load can begin to compress and deform the factory spring perch over time. We discovered this problem on our Spec E30 race cars, where the combination of stiffer rear springs and repeated track use was deforming the spring perches. We developed these weld-in reinforcement plates to strengthen the factory perch and distribute spring loads over a larger area. Precision cut from .119" steel, the plates are designed to be welded directly to the rear trailing arm spring perch, adding support where the spring transfers its load into the trailing arm. They can be installed as a preventative upgrade before deformation occurs or used to reinforce spring perches that have already begun to compress. Professional installation is recommended.
