The FlexiTrace is a traceable pushrod built for locating non-metallic pipes and ducts that conventional locating methods can’t reach. Conducting wires run the full length of the rod to a transmitting coil at the tip, so when energised by a Radiodetection transmitter or Genny, the entire deployed length can be traced from the surface — not just a single point. Ideal for water, gas, telecom and drainage crews working with plastic or clay pipework, it lets operators map a full pipe route or pinpoint a blockage or collapse without excavation. At just 5mm in diameter, the rod enters pipes as small as 12mm, where standard sondes and larger flexrods simply won’t fit. The glass-fibre core is housed in a UV-stabilised polypropylene sleeve for abrasion resistance and reliable bend strength through tight elbows, and the whole assembly is wound on a sturdy steel frame with a manual brake for controlled deployment and retrieval. Key Features: Rod Diameter: 5mm Available Lengths: 50m (164 feet) and 80m (263 feet) Minimum Pipe Entry: 12mm internal diameter Minimum Bend Radius: 250mm (10″) Weight: 6kg (50m) / 6.5kg (80m) Frame Dimensions: 850mm x 520mm x 940mm Built-in transmitting coil (sonde) at rod tip Full length of the rod is detectable from above ground — unlike a sonde fitted to a standard Flexrod, which is only detectable at the tip Core rod: E-glass and vinyl ester with UV-stabilised polypropylene sleeve Resistant to abrasion, most solvents, oils and acids Steel reel frame with manual brake for controlled feed Traces plastic, clay and other non-conductive pipes that carry no natural signal Locates blockages, collapses and unmapped pipe routes Energised by a Radiodetection Genny or Tx-series transmitter Traced with any Radiodetection precision locator or C.A.T Power limit: do not exceed 1W. The FlexiTrace tip can overheat if power limits are not observed.
