Five bikes are already picked out and matched to your five riders: a KLX 300, a CRF 250F, a CRF 230F, and two CRF 125Fs. They will be fueled, checked, and lined up before you pull in. All you bring is the family. We run the same Learn to Ride progression that has started hundreds of first-time riders in Lockhart, paced to your five instead of a group of strangers. Full size, for the tallest rider in the group. Rider 2 CRF 250F Honda Full size, smooth power. Easy to start and easy to like. Rider 3 CRF 230F Honda Full size with a lower seat. Forgiving and predictable. Rider 4 CRF 125F Honda Mid size. The bike most first-timers learn on. Rider 5 CRF 125F Honda Mid size. Same bike, so the two of them can ride together. Helmets, jerseys, and pants are provided with every bike. Riders wear closed-toe shoes or boots, long socks, and gloves if they have them. First-timers are his specialty: kids on their first 50, adults who have wanted to do this since they were twelve, and whole families in one session. He teaches every level of the Learn to Ride progression, from the first clutch release to confident laps, and he paces each rider on their own clock. It is the same dirt every MXF Learn to Ride session runs on, and for your 90 minutes it is closed to everyone but the Mistrys and Coach Spenser. Bring water for everyone and sunscreen. Good to know Questions Does anyone need riding experience?No. This is built for first-timers. The only requirements are that each rider is at least 3 feet tall and already knows how to ride a bicycle. Balance carries over, and that is the one thing we cannot teach in 90 minutes. What should the riders wear?Closed-toe shoes or boots, long socks, and comfortable clothes you do not mind getting dusty. Helmets, jerseys, and pants are provided. If anyone owns gloves or goggles, bring them. What if a rider wants a different bike?Easy. The five bikes on this page are matched to your riders, but we can swap sizes on the day if something does not feel right. We keep the whole rental fleet on site. What if it rains?Central Texas usually dries fast. If the track is unrideable on the day, we move your session to a date that works for the family rather than running it in the mud. Is there anything to sign?Yes. Every rider signs a waiver before riding, and a parent or legal guardian signs for anyone under 18. We will send it over ahead of time so the first ten minutes are gear, not paperwork. Can the rest of the family watch?Absolutely. Anyone not riding can watch from beside the track with a clear view of the beginner loop. Bring a camera. The helmet-off moment is worth it.
