A Classic, Reawakened The BMX was crafted with one goal in mind: unlocking new creative possibilities by reimagining one of the most iconic drum machines ever made. Blending a fresh, modern approach with the unmistakable character of the original, the BMX delivers the same punchy, authentic sound that helped shape early Hip-Hop and powered countless groundbreaking records. Its influence reached far beyond the genre too—New Order famously used it to define the sound of their 1983 classic “Blue Monday.” Complete Control Designed to elevate performance, the BMX packs a full suite of fresh live-focused tools across all sequencer modes — including step repeat, note repeat, real-time triggering and live step overdubs. Users can drop into record while staying in pattern mode to build song structures on the fly, then flip back to playback with a single tap. Fire up the autofill to inject instant energy and variation and keep the momentum going by cueing up the next song straight from memory without ever stopping the music. With the BMX, users can run complete sets from start to finish — no other gear required. Powerful and Feature-Rich Sequencer The BMX features one of the most powerful step sequencers ever created. The 64-step sequencer can store up to 192 patterns and 8 songs with a continuously variable swing allowing users to mimic a real drummer and give the beats they create a more human feel. Wave Designer and Dual-Mode Filter The integrated Wave Designer has individual attack and sustain controls that can be applied to individual voices to bring another dimension to patterns. Additionally, BMX’s highly flexible dual-mode filter button toggles between LPF and HPF, allowing users to experiment with the cutoff frequency and resonance controls to create out of this world drum patterns while those fluid sweeps can be recorded straight into the sequencer and further tweaked using the step editor. Parameter Chaining BMX’s robust encoder lets users set separate chain preferences for each of the parameters, allowing them to function globally or to switch when a song or pattern changes. Parameters include tempo, swing, flam, probability, independent track mutes/solos, FX bus assignments, filter modes and sweeps for enhanced real-time control. Patterns can be changed on-the-fly for further creative control when using the BMX as the heart of a live setup. USB Control To bring the BMX into the modern age, USB connectivity has been added for sync and MIDI triggering. This enables the BMX to be controlled by a DAW if desired, allowing individual sounds to be triggered. The Numbers The BMX has 24 knobs, 8 faders and 70 buttons, all laid out in a highly intuitive format that puts the fun back into drum pattern creation. Input and output connections include phones, stereo audio outputs, MIDI In, Out and Thru over USB and 5 pin MIDI ports, and 8 independent analog outputs for external processing or recording rhythms as multitrack audio. With its 3 trigger outs, the BMX lets users control external synths and hardware sequencers to create songs without a digital audio workstation in sight. The BMX can also send and receive clock information with highly accurate timing to sync it to the outside world.
