Our standard shape library includes arch top, circle, oval, slim portrait with rounded corners, and square with rounded corners along with custom shape. What is digital die-cutting and how does it differ from traditional die-cutting? Digital die-cutting uses a computer-controlled cutting machine to cut your cards to the specified shape — no physical metal die is required. This makes it faster, more flexible, and cost-effective for short runs. For event menu cards at typical quantities, digital die-cutting is the right choice. How do I set up my file for a custom die-cut shape? Your artwork file should include a separate spot color layer (labeled “Die Cut” or “Cut Line”) showing the exact cut path as a vector outline. Maintain a 0.125″ bleed beyond the cut line and keep all important text and design elements at least 0.125″ inside the cut edge. If you are unsure how to prepare upload your design and select need proof before printing we can set up the die-cut path as part of a digital proof. Will the cut edges be smooth? Yes — However, digital die-cutting can occasionally show slightly rough or uneven edges on designs with dark or full-bleed backgrounds near the cut line — if your design has a dark background, keep this in mind and discuss it with our team before production. Are these menu cards reusable or for single use? These cards are designed for short-term event use — typically a single occasion such as a wedding reception, gala dinner, or celebration event. They are not laminated and are not intended for repeated daily handling over time. If you need a durable, reusable menu for a restaurant or venue, see our standard laminated menu cards instead. How long does printing take? Standard shape orders typically take 2–4 business days after artwork approval. Custom die-cut shapes may require additional lead time depending on complexity. If your event has a fixed date, contact us as early as possible so we can confirm turnaround and avoid any last-minute surprises.
