Brand: Little Red Cup Tea

Organic Moroccan Mint Green Tea — equal parts Chinese Gunpowder Green tea (Zhu Cha, from Jiangxi Province) and organic USA-grown spearmint. Our take on the traditional North African preparation: bright, cooling mint over a smooth, lightly smoky green tea body, brewing a dark gold liquor. Very minty with lots of body, and without the bitterness of the traditional long-boiled version. Drinks well light and unsweetened, or brewed stronger and sweetened for a taste of Marrakesh. Excellent iced. Tea Type: Green tea and mint blend (Moroccan mint style) Ingredients: Organic Gunpowder Green tea (Zhu Cha, 珠茶), organic dried spearmint — equal parts, nothing else Origin: Gunpowder green — Jiangxi Province, China. Spearmint — USA. Certification: USDA Organic Sourcing: Gunpowder — worker-owned cooperative in Jiangxi, grown without synthetic pesticides or herbicides. Spearmint — organic, USA. Processing: Pan-fired green tea blended with dried spearmint leaf; no flavoring oils or additives Caffeine: Contains caffeine, but less than a straight green tea — half the blend is caffeine-free spearmint. Brewing Specifications: - Water temperature: 180°F (82°C) - Steeping time: 2 minutes 30 seconds - Tea amount: 2 tsp (1.5 g) per 8 oz cup - The leaves will take a re-steep - For a taste of Marrakesh: brew stronger, add heaping spoonfuls of sugar, serve scalding hot - Iced: brew as usual, pour over ice Flavor Profile: Cooling spearmint, smooth lightly-smoky gunpowder body, dark gold liquor, no bitterness. [Blend-specific review quotes to be added once reviews come in — the quote below is from a customer who made Moroccan mint from our Gunpowder Green base.] Best For: Mint tea drinkers; anyone wanting an afternoon or evening cup with modest caffeine; iced-tea drinkers; anyone who's built Moroccan mint from scratch and would rather have it in one tin. Less suited to drinkers who want a pure, unblended single-origin green — see Gunpowder Green or Dragon Well. Customer Quote (on our Gunpowder Green base, prepared Moroccan style): "Another top notch tea. I made it with mint, Moroccan style." — Andrea Note on origin: Moroccan Mint is a style, not a place. This tea isn't grown in Morocco — it's our organic Jiangxi gunpowder green blended with organic US-grown spearmint, in a tradition that's been made across North Africa for more than 200 years.
