Actisorb 220 Silver / Charcoal Dressings 10.5 x 10.5cm x 5 dressings - For Infected Wounds This knitted fabric wound dressing contains silver and activated charcoal. It is designed to suppress bacterial growth and to absorb wound exudate as well as reducing wound odour. It is suitable for treating exuding infected wounds and ulcers which have an unpleasant odour. These dressings are expensive and in the Republic of Ireland, where we are based, they are not covered under any of the drug schemes such as the Medical Card or Drug Payments Schemes, so that all patients must pay for these products.
