Witch hats, Kitty Cats and Broomsticks

4 years and up Sunday October 11th 2-4 p.m. (registration includes 1 child + 1 grown up) Workshop facilitator: Liana De Francesco (She/Her) Create your own unique Witch’s Hat with fabric scraps and glue! Each participant (including the Adults!) will receive a Witch’s Hat form as their base to create any design they wish, using the materials provided. All participants will also create their own one-of-a kind witch’s broom using nature’s bounty! Using sticks and branches from the magic forest, each broom will be a unique creation bound together with yarn or cording. The magic broom creation doesn’t need to end there! Painting and decorating with ornaments, beads and shiny things will further customize your creations. And lastly, No Witch is truly complete without a kitty cat as a companion. A simple no-sew Kitty cat stuffie sculpture will add the necessary whimsy to your new Halloween wardrobes! *Registered participants are invited to play in the studio prior to the workshop, at no additional cost. About the facilitator: Liana is a natural craftsperson with a love for seasonal creativity and nature-based materials. With a background in environmental studies and forest conservation, she brings an appreciation for the rhythms of the natural world and the changing seasons into her creative process. She especially enjoys nature crafting, seasonal projects, crocheting, and exploring the many ways people can connect with the outdoors through handmade creations inspired by its everyday wonders. Liana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies from York University and a Master’s Degree in Forest Conservation from Toronto Metropolitan University.
