SILBRAZE SILVER BRAZING ALLOY 2P 3MM X 750MM
2P Silbraze (often designated with a Yellow Tip by suppliers) refers to a premium 2% Silver copper-phosphorus brazing alloy rod. It is a highly popular, economical choice across the plumbing, engineering, and HVAC&R sectors for joining copper and its alloys. Technical Overview & Specifications Silver Content: 2% (Ag), which provides improved ductility and joint strength compared to 0% silver rods. Classification: Typically conforms to AWS A5.8-B CuP6 and AS1167 standards. Melting Range: Approximately 645°C to 820°C (Brazing temp around 875°C). Self-Fluxing: It is self-fluxing when used for copper-to-copper joints due to the phosphorus content. Key Applications Copper to Copper: Widely used for joining copper tubing, copper pipes, and hot water tank manufacturing. Copper to Brass: Can join copper to low-zinc brass, though an external silver brazing flux is strictly required for this application. Industry Compliance: Complies with Watermark™ certifications, making it safe and legal for Australian plumbing and potable water applications. Material Limitations Ferrous Metals: Do not use this rod on steel, stainless steel, or iron. Specific Alloys: Not suitable for aluminium, zinc, or nickel alloys, or any metals containing more than 10% nickel.
