Mount them where your floor wants them for a down fire install, or leave them off and run the cabinet front firing or up firing. The orientation is yours to choose. This page is a Performance Optimized enclosure. The airspace, the cutouts and the cabinet height all come from the Kicker L7T 10's own published numbers. A Performance box fits your subwoofer. A Performance Optimized box was built for it. Two Square Holes, Cut For Two Square Cones The Solo-Baric L7T is a square subwoofer, and both baffle positions on this cabinet are machined with a 9 5/16 inch square cutout to match. Not round holes that square drivers sit over. The corners are cut to Kicker's own published CNC template. The square format is the entire point of the Solo-Baric line. A square cone fits 20 percent more radiating area into the same nominal diameter than a round one. Each L7T 10 measures 432.64 cm² of piston area against roughly 340 to 350 for a typical round 10, so across the pair this cabinet moves 865 cm² of cone. That is more radiating area than two round 11 inch drivers. Kicker gets there with SoloKon injection-molded polypropylene cones with 360 degree back bracing as a single solid unit, high-roll Santoprene surrounds with patented ribbed corners so the square perimeter can move without binding, and the cone stitched to the surround. UniPlate solid pole pieces and backplates handle heat, and a bumped top plate makes room for 14.2mm of excursion in a 3 3/4 inch mounting depth. Two Chambers, Not One This enclosure follows the Proline X standing design rule for dual sealed builds: two fully separate chambers divided by a bonded full-height 3/4 inch MDF panel. Two drivers sharing one sealed volume interact acoustically. Each driver's compression phase becomes the pressure environment the other is working against, which smears transient response and blurs the alignment each would have on its own. A full divider eliminates that entirely. Each L7T 10 gets its own 0.60 cubic feet net and its own polyfill, which is the same volume the single driver cabinet provides. That means both products land on the same alignment. Qtc 0.745 per chamber here against 0.746 on the single, with an identical 51.3 Hz F3. The dual gives you roughly 6 dB more maximum output and double the power handling, with no change in character. Net Volume, Not Gross Each chamber is 0.60 cubic feet net, 1.20 total, from 1.35 gross. Kicker publishes a sealed range of 0.4 minimum to 1.0 maximum for the L7T 10, so each chamber sits near the middle of their own window. Going bigger buys nothing with this driver. At 0.60 net per chamber the L7T 10 produces an F3 of 51.3 Hz. At 0.80 net it produces 51.3 Hz. The corner frequency drops but the rolloff shape changes to compensate, so extension is flat across the usable range. Chambers were sized to the alignment rather than inflated to look generous on a spec sheet. One note on honesty: Kicker does not publish a driver displacement figure for the L7T anywhere in their spec sheet, T/S data or dimension drawings. The 0.07 cubic feet per driver used in the net calculation is our own estimate from the square cutout and mounting depth. If Kicker publishes a figure later we will update this page. Down Fire Construction Cut with V-groove and dado joinery on our ShopSabre routers from Langboard Elite 3/4 inch MDF, a dense 48.5 lb/ft³ board with a 200 psi internal bond and 410,000 psi MOE. Every panel joint is a machined interlocking groove that mechanically locks before adhesive is applied, which keeps both chambers airtight under sustained pressure cycling. Corners are square on Down Fire cabinets. The cabinet measures 30 inches wide by 15 inches deep by 8.6875 inches tall, measured in the down fire position. Feet ship with the enclosure but are not installed, so plan the space around where you intend to mount them. Square Baffle Cutouts Two 9 5/16 inch square openings machined to Kicker's published CNC template, with the corner radii the L7T basket expects. A round cutout would leave the corners of the cone unsupported. Double Baffle, Flush Recess Front baffles are 1.5 inches at both driver positions, two bonded 3/4 inch sheets, with the outer layer machined as a flush recess so each driver bolts to the inner layer. Separate Chambers A bonded full-height 3/4 inch divider gives each driver its own 0.60 cubic feet and its own polyfill, so neither driver works against the other. One Shared Terminal Cup Proline X ABS and carbon fiber composite cup with stainless hardware and copper ring terminals, side mounted and pre-wired in 12 gauge OFC to both driver positions in parallel. What 51 Hz Means In A Vehicle The L7T 10 has a free-air resonance of 30.35 Hz, and a sealed enclosure always raises the system corner above the driver's own Fs. At 0.60 net per chamber that lands the anechoic F3 at 51.3 Hz, which reads high next to a shallow 12 on a spec sheet. That comparison is fair on a bench and misleading in a car. This cabinet fires down into the floor, so the sealed rolloff meets rising cabin gain below 60 Hz and in-car response extends well below the anechoic number. The L7T was designed to live under a seat at 3 3/4 inches of depth, and across a pair the 865 square centimetres of square cone and 14.2mm of excursion each do the work that a bigger box would otherwise have to. Power and Wiring Kicker rates the L7T 10 at 500 watts RMS recommended amplifier power each, 1000 watts RMS combined across the pair, with 1000 watts peak per driver under ANSI/CTA-2031-A. Sensitivity is 85.98 dB by Kicker's published figure; their own Klippel measurement reports 85.645 dB characteristic SPL, so treat mid 85 as the working number. One side mounted terminal cup serves both chambers, pre-wired in 12 gauge OFC to both driver positions in parallel, so you do not run the chambers separately to the amplifier. Final impedance is set at the drivers. Available in Dual 2-Ohm (46L7T102) and Dual 4-Ohm (46L7T104), and you should use two of the same model wired identically, since mismatched wiring between chambers splits power unevenly. Confirm the resulting load against your amplifier's minimum stable impedance before powering the system. The alignment figures on this page are calculated from the Dual 2-Ohm parameter set. Bring your own pair of L7T 10 subwoofers. The enclosure carries a 1 year limited warranty. Cut for the Driver, Not the Catalog Two square cutouts, two separate chambers, one shared cup, built one at a time in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
