This vessel is based on a Shino tea bowl from the Azuchi–Momoyama period. It was fired in a wood-fired kiln in Oishida, Yamagata. The ash from the firing changed the original white colour of Shino ware. One of the unique features of this piece is the mark left when it touched another vessel during the firing process.
