upupa wrap

Designed by Mirva Scivola and knit in fingering weight, Finch, the Upupa Wrap is inspired by the hoopoe bird, long admired by Scivola since childhood. Worked in three colors, the wrap uses shifting tones and intricate stitch patterns to echo the bird’s layered feathers, striped wings, and distinctive crown. A quieter body section offers moments of visual rest before the shawl opens into a dramatic central motif reminiscent of outstretched wings in flight. The result is a piece that feels both graphic and organic, celebrating the beauty and movement found in nature.
