DESCRIPTION Maotai or Moutai - This most well-known brand of Baijiu in the world is a distilled Chinese liquor (spirit), made in the town of Maotai in China's Guizhou province and produced by the state-owned Kweichow Moutai Company, it is distilled from fermented sorghum and comes in several different varieties. The brand Kweichow Moutai was officially named as the 'National Liquour of China' in 1949 by Zhou Enlai, the first Premier of the People's Republic of China. TASTING NOTES This Chinese spirits has a bright red with ruby and purplish highlights with intense red with cherry & fig aromas, a touch of dark chocolate & black pepper, as well as light mint & liquorice notes. Sharp on the entry with firm elegant tannins, it is fleshy & balanced on the palate while providing a refreshing acidity.
