It rests on an octagonal Portoro marble base. Signed J D Guirande on the dress. 55 cm (66 cm with the base) / 21.7" (26.0" with the base) 16 cm (6.30 inches) deep / 36 cm (14.17 inches) wide Dancer with Thyrsus – Large Model Spectacular silvered bronze sculpture of a very elegant dancer holding a thyrsus, or Baton Fleuri, with her heart embellished with grape and vine leaves. It rests on an octagonal Portoro marble base. Signed Guirande on the dress. THE REGIONAL COMMITTEE OF ADVISERS ON FOREIGN TRADE TO ITS CHAIRMAN Mr. P. THOUERY 1928 Designed by Joe Descomps (Joseph Jules Emmanuel Cormier) (1869-1950), who often used the pseudonym Guirande. He exhibited at the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes (International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts). Very rare in that combination and size.
