Zazou Bikaye – Guilty!
Label:Crammed Discs – 28CRL-3024 Country:Japan Used LP 1988 Disc:VG+/EX (great shape overall) Jacket:VG- (large tears on the top and left sides of the jacket) w/insert, missing obi 1989 release marks the second album by Zazou Bikaye, a duo featuring French keyboardist Hector Zazou and African singer Bony Bikaye. The album pushes the paradoxes of "hot vs. cold" and "robotic vs. African" to the limit, comprising 8 tracks that blend an African atmosphere with the kind of bold artifice and playfulness characteristic of a maverick talent. Standout tracks include ethno-african piece "Binagwe" that evokes the landscape of Africa through magical sound processing, afro-electro-wave track "Sans Musik" with bizarre structural shifts and cover of James Brown "It's A Man's Man's World" that combines ambient textures with emotional vocals. The entire album is a compelling listen. Please note that while this is a rare Japanese edition, it is priced lower due to defects with the jacket. It's A Man's Man's World”は目を張ります。 A2 - No Secret A3 - Binagwe A4 - Ba Wela B2 - My Shoes B3 - Sans Musik B4 - It's A Man's Man's World
