Arc Audio X2 Series Amplifiers Arc Audio X2 1200.6 Six-Channel Amplifier The most configurable amplifier in the X2 lineup. Six channels at 150 watts each into 2 or 4 ohms, two independent bandpass crossover sections, full bridging on every channel pair, and a sub channel that delivers 600 watts bridged. One chassis covers a full three-way active front stage plus subwoofer, or a four-channel system with sub, or a bridged three-channel build. 150W x 6 600W Bridged Sub Dual Bandpass Level 2 Chassis Power Output Channels 1-4 150W x 4 At 4 ohms or 2 ohms Channels 5-6 Stereo 300W x 2 At 2 ohms (150W x 2 at 4 ohms) Channels 5-6 Bridged 600W At 4 ohms, subwoofer duty All power ratings are rated continuous RMS at 14.4 volts. Channels 1 through 4 hold 150 watts at both 4 ohms and 2 ohms thanks to the adjustable rail voltage system. Channels 5 and 6 are the high-power pair, designed to run 2 ohms each in stereo or bridge together into a single 4-ohm subwoofer load. One Amplifier, Four System Architectures The 1200.6 is built to be the entire amplifier rack in a single chassis. Arc Audio documents four configurations: four-channel stereo high-pass with subwoofer, three-way active with tweeter, midrange and subwoofer, three-way with passive mid and tweeter plus midbass and subwoofer, and bridged three-channel stereo with subwoofer. That range is what makes this amp worth its footprint. A builder who would otherwise install a four-channel plus a monoblock can do the whole system on one amp, one power run, and one ground. Two Bandpass Sections, Not Just High-Pass and Low-Pass Channels 1 and 2 and channels 5 and 6 each have a full bandpass crossover section: high-pass, low-pass, and both together. Channels 3 and 4 have a high-pass with full-range bypass. Every low-pass and high-pass section except the fixed 12 dB per octave stages carries an X1 and X10 range multiplier, which moves the adjustment window from 50 to 500 Hz up to 500 Hz to 5 kHz. That is what allows a true active midrange band on channels 1 and 2 without an external processor. For DSP-based systems, every crossover switches to full-range and passes the signal untouched. 150W x 6at 2 or 4 Ohm 600WBridged CH 5/6 13.0 inLength Level 2Chassis Load Select: Adjustable Rail Voltage Channels 1 and 2 and channels 3 and 4 each have a Load Select switch that changes the amplifier's internal rail voltage to match the load. In the Under 4 Ohm position, the amp makes full power at 2 ohms stereo or 4 ohms bridged. In the Over 4 Ohm position, it makes full power at 4 ohms stereo or 8 ohms bridged. This is why the amp holds 150 watts per channel across both impedances instead of dropping output on higher-impedance loads the way a fixed-rail design would. Set the Load Select switches before the first power-up. Running the amplifier with the Load Select switches in the wrong position can damage it. Never operate below 2 ohms stereo or 4 ohms bridged on any channel pair. Bridged loads on channels 1 through 4 must use the Under 4 Ohm position. Input Select: Fewer Cables, Cleaner Installs Two Input Select switches let channels 3 and 4 and channels 5 and 6 pull their signal from the channel 1 and 2 inputs, which removes the need for RCA Y-cables when the source unit only has one or two pairs of outputs. A separate master switch selects between four-channel stereo and bridged two-channel operation. In bridged two-channel mode, input 1 feeds the output of channels 1 and 2 and input 2 feeds channels 3 and 4, with the channel 1 and 2 crossover and gain controls governing the signal. Balanced Differential Inputs and OEM Integration The X2 1200.6 uses a balanced differential input stage compatible with unbalanced RCA, balanced DSP outputs, common-ground speaker-level outputs, and the bridged tied load outputs common on factory head units. Included speaker-level RCA pigtails carry a resistive divider network molded into the RCA end, which drops a high-power factory signal to a usable level without an external line output converter. DC Detect and Signal Detect auto turn-on modes monitor the channel 1 input and remove the need for a dedicated remote wire. Level 2 Cosmetics The 1200.6 carries Arc Audio's Level 2 cosmetic package: a silver brushed-aluminum hairline extruded shroud and an acrylic center badge that illuminates blue in normal operation and flashes diagnostic fault codes when something is wrong. The badge rotates in 90-degree increments to read correctly in any mounting orientation. All tuning controls sit under the removable shroud, so the finished install shows no exposed adjustment pots. Front-Panel Diagnostics The illuminated badge doubles as a diagnostic display. Distinct flash patterns identify heatsink thermal, transformer thermal, under voltage, over voltage, DC output protection, and shorted speaker faults, with separate codes for the low-power channels 1 through 4 and the high-power channels 5 and 6. On a six-channel amp driving a full active system, being able to tell which side of the amp faulted without pulling panels saves real diagnostic time. Installation summary: 4 AWG power and ground, 3 x 30A ATC/ATO on-board fuses, removable plug-style speaker terminals (14 AWG max on channels 1 through 4, 12 AWG max on channels 5 and 6), balanced differential RCA inputs with speaker-level pigtails included, DC Detect or Signal Detect auto turn-on, remote level control included for channels 5 and 6, start-stop compatible below 8V, 13.0 x 6.268 x 2.162 in.
