Matchbox Originals Authentic Recreations "Milk Float Horse Drawn"
In 1954, the Horse Drawn Milk Float became available. The first versions were filled with eight spoke metal wheels. This model was not familiar to children but sod well as an early Lesney toy. The Matchbox Originals represent a fine reproduction of Lesney Products. The trademark "MOKO" was adopted by 1948 and the first toy - - a road roller - - was produced followed by others. In 1953, stimulated by the success of the miniature Coronation Coach, Lesney decided to scale down their larger toys to a miniature range. They were packed in a small box, the color and shape of a matchbox - - thus the "MATCHBOX SERIES" was born.
